On May 18, 2017 Lantz team members Jeff Deavers, Mark Silvious, Mark Byerly, and former project manager Tom Hutchinson joined company President & CEO Chris Weaver at the Virginia Quilt Museum for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony and reception in dedication of the VQM’s new front porch.  Lantz’s extensive stabilization and renovation project was completed in April.

The museum is housed in the historic Warren-Sipe House, built in 1856.  By last summer it was clear that the 160 year-old porch was in desperate need of repair.  The columns, column bases, handrails and balusters were badly deteriorated due to age and water damage, and the brick pillar supports had become unstable causing serious concern about safety.  Great care was taken to recreate the original architectural elements in order to maintain the structure’s historic integrity.
