Top 10 States for LEED in 2012!
Last month the U.S. Green Building Council released its annual list of the top 10 states for new LEED certifications in 2012, and Lantz is doing our part to keep Virginia among those leading the way.
The per-capita list is based on 2010 U.S. Census data and includes commercial and institutional buildings certified under LEED. Approximately 2.2 billion square feet of space has been certified worldwide through 2012, according to the councils report.
Leading the nation in LEED certified space per capita is the District of Columbia, with 36.97. The first actual state on the list is Virginia, coming in to beat all the other states with 3.71 certified space per capita.
Lantz has two of our very own LEED accredited professions that help us contribute to Virginias totals. Jeff Deavers, accredited for 6 years, and Christopher Eads, accredited for nearly 10, apply their knowledge of green building to many projects here at Lantz.
