About This Project
This second fire station for the City of Waynesboro was a significant community need coming to fruition after years of planning. A lot of thought was put into the station’s design to maximize functionality and be aesthetically pleasing on the exterior. Its construction is a mix of metal framing, masonry, and wood trusses, complete with brick veneer with EIFS accents and a metal roof. The station’s interior includes a training room, gym, kitchen, dayroom, laundry, bunk rooms, individual bathrooms, turn-out gear room, decontamination area, and apparatus bays. The apparatus bays are equipped with 14’ high speed overhead doors and include a training platform, training hatch, and training columns with tie off locations for first responders to work on specific skills.
In January 2026, the station joined the City’s original station in service, since allowing for decreased response times, particularly for the western side of the Waynesboro.
