AGCVA Announces New CEO

The Associated General Contractors of Virginia (AGCVA) announced today that Brandon Robinson, CAE has been named the organization’s new CEO. Brandon will assume the role on Monday, July 20. Brandon brings fifteen years of association management experience where he worked with a variety of trade associations and professional societies to this role.

Previously, Brandon served as the Director of Policy at the Virginia Association of Health Plans (VAHP). He was one of the chief lobbyists for the health insurance industry at the Virginia General Assembly. There he built relationships with key legislators, regulators, and members of the Governor’s administration. Prior to VAHP, Brandon worked as the Executive Director of the Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE), serving as the chief staff executive of the 400-plus member state-wide professional association. During his tenure, he helped rebrand the organization and lead the organization through a strategic revisioning.

At the end of the day, ensuring each member business finds value in this association to make them better is my focus. I cannot wait to get started.”

Brandon has a graduate degree from the The Graduate School of Political Management at The George Washington University. He is also a proud alum of Mary Washington College. He remains an active member of VSAE as well as ASAE where he has served in several leadership positions. He earned his certified association executive (CAE) credential in 2015.

Brandon is a Richmond native where he currently lives with his wife, two children, and affable golden retriever.

The Associated General Contractors of Virginia is the largest organization serving the commercial construction industry in the State.  Since 1924, it has provided regulatory, workforce development, training, safety, and networking services to nearly 600 member firms.
