HARRISONBURG – The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce has announced that 42 people have been selected to participate in its two leadership programs for 2015-16.

Thirty-six people who work for local businesses or organizations have enrolled in the Leadership Harrisonburg-Rockingham program. The program’s goal is to develop future community leaders through information and training sessions held over nine months.

The participants are: Ana Aceituno, Lydia Heatwole, Daniel Shickel and Emily Weller of the Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community; Sheena Armentrout of the chamber; Casey Armstrong and Jennifer Mongold of Rockingham County; Samantha Bosserman of DuPont Community Credit Union; Quinton Callahan of Clark & Bradshaw; Sarah Connor and Jacob Ottman of Dynamic Aviation; Jeffrey Deavers of Lantz Construction; Wesley Dove of Frazier Quarry; Sara Embree of May Supply; Martha Gooden, Jason Hensley, John Langhans and Jessica Williams of the city of Harrisonburg; Jim Hershberger of Church World Service Harrisonburg; Jacqueline Hieber of The Collins Center; Colby Horne of Bridgewater College; Stephanie Hutchens of Sentara RMH Medical Center; Molly Jackson of Big Brothers Big Sisters; Glenn Myers, Phillip Scheible and Kristi Strang of Tactical & Survival Specialties; Hans Nelson of Camp Up With People; Leandra Ottman of Riner Rentals; Susan Pinnell of McClung Companies.; Jason Ropp of Park View Federal Credit Union; Grady Ruckman of CrossFit Harrisonburg; Ashley Summers of PBMares; Tammy Warren of Union Bank & Trust; Jay Webb and Arianna Williams of WHSV-TV3; and Elizabeth Williams of the United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.

In addition, six people have been chosen for the fourth class of Building Optimal Leaders by Design, a two-year program that pairs potential future leaders with established community leaders.

Megan Argenbright of Brown Edwards & Co., Matt Beahm of Farmers & Merchants Bank, Matthew Frakes of Morgan Stanley, Tim Troyer and Vaughn Zepp of RR Donnelly, and Ritchie Vaughan of Kline May Realty form the class. Mentors for the class are Kelly Blosser of Riddleberger Brothers, Doug Driver of Lantz Construction, Rockingham County Clerk of the Court Chaz Evans-Haywood, Cary Hevener of Tactical & Survival Specialties, Dick Myers of Dick Myers Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Wayne Witmer of Harman Construction.
