Barry brought more than 30 years of experience with him when he joined Team Lantz in 2017.

From 2011-2017 Barry served as Director of Public Works for Rockingham County where he was responsible for operations and maintenance of facilities, utilities, water treatment and landfill.  Prior to 2011, Barry devoted 25 years to the excavating business where he held positions as Equipment Operator, Foreman, Estimator and Project Manager.

He grew up in rural Ohio as an OSU Buckeyes fan and came to Virginia to finish his four-year degree at Eastern Mennonite University.   While at EMU, Barry met his wife Dolores and he ultimately traded the rolling hills and farmland of Ohio for the mountains of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley.  As his years in Virginia surpassed the time spent in his home state, Barry adopted the Virginia Tech Hokies as one of his favorite teams.

Members of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church, Barry and Dolores’ family includes two grown children, Josh and Meg, as well as daughter-in-law Kaitlyn, granddaughter Coralee, and son-in-law Kyndell.

One of Barry’s favorite pastimes is spending time on Hatteras Island at the Outer Banks with his family and their Fox Red Lab “Sadie.”
